NOW READING:   “A Journey Shared” by Greg Campbell.  This book made me think, ponder, pause and reflect.  Perhaps you will, too.

On Saturday, August 22 at 10:00 AM we will hold a discussion of this book at the shop, Village Bookmarket, 207 East Main St., Palmyra, NY.

Life is very, very busy and it’s hard to fit in one more meeting, so I am also offering an online discussion group.

This is a book of essays, vignettes (a short descriptive literary sketch--I looked it up), thoughts on life.  From the back cover of the book:

This is a book of essays, vignettes (a short descriptive literary sketch--I looked it up), thoughts on life. From the back cover of the book:

“We are meant to live along.  We do not.  We cannot.  Life is meant to be shared.  From the humble beginnings of a random blog page, to the pages of A Journey Shared you are invited to come along and share the Journey!

“From the depths of sorrow of losing a loved one, to the joys and innocence of a baby girl.  The tight, uncomfortable places of trusting a Father we cannot see, to the jaw-dropping miracles He provides along the way.  A Journey of a follower is never dull.  And it’s meant to be shared.”

As you may have guessed, Greg is a Christian and, therefore, writes from a Christian perspective.

HOWEVER, this is not a book just for Christians, so please do not be put off by that.

Greg is not “preachy” in his writing and writes his thoughts about every day things.  Things such as trying to explain to his oldest son why is best for him (the son) to obey Mom and Dad; his thoughts regarding some people he saw as he was shopping for diapers one day in Wegmans and another day pumping gas at Getty Mart (if I told you more about those 2 it would spoil them); home repairs; a loss in the family; a loss of a water shoe; and more.
